MIDLIFE
"I feel so happy to know the deep embodiment of this offering within Nell, and the safe hands in which she
will hold her students through midlife & beyond"
- Niamh Daly, Senior Yoga Teacher and Course Tutor.
The midlife experience can differ greatly from woman to woman. This transition in a woman’s life journey can last from a few months to many years and how it feels for each woman can be just as varied. Sadly, for many years society has often viewed this part of a woman’s life as an ending – as her monthly cycle slows and her body’s purpose begins to change. And for too long women have been deprived of both knowledge and understanding of what is really happening in this emotional and physical shift.
I, however, believe strongly that as we move through the midlife transition and into the next part of our lives that we are entering one of the most powerful and beautiful phases of our journey. It is a time when we can sit in a place of deeper wisdom, our bodies freed from menstrual demands, shining with mature beauty and strength. A time where we feel less and less the pressures of conforming to society but instead have the confidence to use our voices to guide others with inspiration and authenticity.
And there is now a growing number of women speaking out to redefine this major part of a woman’s story. It is my desire to be part of that change and through my Midlife Medicine workshops and retreats I hope to create safe spaces where women can become empowered and emboldened.
Yes, this transitional stage can be challenging but I believe that through movement, mindfulness, shared stories and community we can change our mindset to move forward into the next phase of life with a sense of joy, strength and promise.
I am currently running weekly Midlife Medicine sessions in Norwich and will soon also be creating Midlife Medicine day retreats with informative workshops, community connection and deep release and relaxation.
